💡 How LiDAR Works (Time of Flight)

LiDAR is an acronym for Light Detection and Ranging. It is a remote sensing method that uses pulsed laser light to measure distances to objects and surfaces, creating highly accurate, three-dimensional (3D) maps of the environment.

LiDAR is often described as the "eyes" of an autonomous system due to its ability to provide extremely precise spatial awareness.

Measurement (Time of Flight - ToF): The sensor measures the Time of Flight—the exact time it took for each pulse to travel from the emitter to the object and return.
